Why are you excited for 2012 Fittest Doctor Competition?
I work hard to maintain my fitness, with my new son and busy practice. I was honored to be nominated. I want to be a role model.
What is your strategy for staying fit with your demanding schedule?
I work out first thing in the morning and with friends who are part of Gilbert Gazelles and T3 so that we support and motivate each other. I set goals for myself. I also teach spin @ Lifetime fitness. I enjoy motivating others as it motivates me also. I strive to live a healthy life and stay young.
What is your current favorite workout to do and why?
I enjoy every workout, but running is my favorite. I swim to keep from hurting my body. Swimming and Yoga are great workouts that allow me to train smart. Running is all about training hard.
Why is being a fit doctor important to you?
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” Ghandi I want others to take care of themselves so that they do not need to see me in the office but instead can achieve their personal fitness goals. I hope I can inspire them in some way! fitness is a way of life and with healthcare the way it is changing, we all need too take care of our bodies and our health!
What is your largest fitness accomplishment in the past year?
I increased my running mileage and maintained all other workouts while becoming a mom to a premature son and being an entrepreneur. I enjoy training more than racing and with opening my own practice and having a son. I have to make priorities and they come first. So training is something I have worked at maintaining but signed up for the Cap 10K so I am working on that goal this year.
