I also am a Senior Trainer and Presenter for TRX and a Master Trainer and Presenter for HyperWear. I love educating and empowering others. Movement is healing and fitness improves and enriches our quality of life.

Why are you excited for 2012 Fittest Fitness Pro?

I’m honored that I was nominated, and I definitely want to represent being fit and pregnant! I am excited about meeting more people in the Austin fitness community!

What is your strategy for staying fit with your demanding schedule?

It’s just a priority. I’m more the person I want to be when I’m working out and staying fit. I have each day, week, and end goal planned. Working out and staying fit is just an every day for the rest of my life kind of plan. It’s very helpful being involved with an event, a partner or trainer, or group fitness. I love a community of people. I also love feeling better so that I’m better at taking care of others.

What is your current favorite workout to do and why?

Running is my love in life. It helps free the mind and body. However I mix things up a lot! I greatly enjoy Total Conditioning classes at Lifetime Fitness for a full body hard core routine. I take my TRX suspension trainer everywhere for great full body, all core all the time, easy to travel workouts. I also wear my HyperWear Vest for all body weight training. One of my favorite things is just hitting the weights hard like heavy bench press day (my fave)!

What is your favorite gym, studio, or fitness class in Austin?

Lifetime Fitness South Austin, Total Conditioning class.

Why is being a fit in your professional career important to you?

It’s important personally above all. You can’t take care of others if you can’t take care of yourself. I have to be healthy and happy to be able to teach others, understand others, and share a positive attitude. Professionally it allows me to understand the body, how to lead others, and to understand the work/sweat/and glory to reach fitness goals.

What is your largest fitness accomplishment in the past year?

This past year I qualified for the Boston marathon on the Austin Marathon course. I plan on running it slowly in April as a pregnant athlete!

Give one piece of advice to others looking to get fit and healthy as a busy professional.

It’s necessary to have a fitness community or family. Everybody needs to continue education. Therefore, we all need mentors, coaches, or trainers. It’s usually the commitment to a schedule, or an event, or another person that makes us so successful.

What is your favorite healthy meal?

I heart sushi!
