Why are you excited for 2012 Fittest Entrepreneur?
I am a goal oriented person and it provides a fun and physically rewarding result.
What is your strategy for staying fit with your demanding schedule?
Whether I am in Austin or traveling for work, I always have my running shoes. Starting the day with a run clears my mind and improves my productivity. When I am home in Austin, I am always out with my dog on the trail.
What is your current favorite workout to do and why?
Running, Pilates, walking with my dog and horseback riding. We are lucky to live in such an active city like Austin!
What is your favorite gym, studio, or fitness class in Austin?
The Austonian 56th floor gym.
Why is being a fit entrepreneur important to you?
I live life on the go. I am rarely in town more than a few days at a time. But, I do have a healthy balance between work, exercise and fun. The balance of all three of these is what is most important to me. You are never at your best when any one area is out of balance.I also emphasize to my customers and other dog owners about the importance of health and exercising their dogs. It only seems right that I follow my own advice.
What is your largest fitness accomplishment in the past year?
My largest fitness accomplishment… Honestly, that I am able to achieve such a balance with a hectic schedule!
Give one piece of advice to others looking to get fit and healthy as a busy professional.
My dogs raise my activity level. Austin is a unique blend of beautiful scenery and active people — both physically and socially. This balance is part of what attracts me to the city. Seeing everyone on the trail in the morning makes you want to be healthy and fit. Austin has so many groups, yoga studios, gyms and places to enjoy outdoor activities. All it takes is a few min everyday to get out and be active.
